This article really gives a bit of hope for the us and a bit for humanity in general. You see for me you must define a line beyond which we have better things to be doing. I can only hope that the Big-O finds a balance that leads to a bit of higher ground.

Bubbles... Is that ok... So Methane bubbles in the arctic

So Methane bubbles in the arctic I would have to think this maybe a bit of a problem. If this is a sign of what is to come then we have a bit of a problem in that there are very large reserves of this stuff just hanging out waiting to be released. This is what we get for messing around with a complex system without having a basic understanding of how it works.

The season is yet to finish

Hurrican: the sea temps this matter. Temp is the energy that is stored and ready for a Hurrican to tap into as shown by that chart you can see that a hurrican really pulls its energy from the ocean. So we can only hope that these storms take it easy and lay back rain on the ocean and leave the eastcoast in a peaceful storm of melting paper.  While I do like to hope I will also be keeping an eye on these develping storms.

Over at the Oil Drum they are mouthing off about the "Greatest Race".... It seems they are trying to lay down the framework for a bet I pose that we come up with some terms and then put it to them in an open letter They started off with this post "The Ultimate Fight?: The Singularity v. Resource Depletion and the Limits to Growth, Posted by Prof. Goose" Now that is all well and good as he said we need some goal post such as population stability/continued growth over X time or a measure of the Earths fitness at time/overtime... possibly with some conditions for stability such as off plant populations, on earth species count doesn't go bellow, quality of life index above x??? ect. I will do my best to keep score as well as act a impartial party if needed... I presume we need a panal of judges as well

I wonder is this a wise direction for the United States Of America to be going in... I think that it is important that this decisions be well put together .... take for example the idea of a B-om-b is about to go off in Ny and this guy knows about it... what can/should you use to get the info from him... I guess I can only say no-one is looking to bomb Zurich... lets call this preemptive strategies vs last ditch... Is a last ditch function even helpful if it blows your long term strategy down the tubes... in other word if your longterm strategy is human rights and liberty how is waterboarding helpful... you have to decide what your principles are and then you have to stand behind them... me I believe in human rights...
